In this episode we look at some spirit interactions I have experienced in my career as a nurse spanning both geriatric and pediatric nursing, some of which I have requested their involvement in patient care when I couldn’t be there. 
 
I have one correction to make related to a comment I made. I said I could kick myself for taking so long to go into geriatric nursing and I meant to say pediatric. While I enjoyed my time as a geriatric nurse pediatrics is where my heart truly is! That being said I have had quite a lot of reaffirming experiences in both, a few of which are discussed in this episode.
 
In the next episode we come back to my personal life where I will be sharing my many experiences within the last few years as the activity for me continues to escalate further.  I have a series to recommend this week! If you want to know what it feels like to have my ancestors with me check out Ghosts on HBO Max! I would definitely say it's very close to reality, however mine respect my privacy. On last week’s episode I told you about my experiences in a small mining community in Montana where the home we purchased came with spirits and I received a very special visit from someone close to me who had passed and wanted to bring me a much-needed message. In this week’s episode we head back down to the desert to warm up. This episode encompasses a span of about 11 years prior to the move to Montana and 3 years after returning to the desert.  You will hear about the effects of this challenging gift on my marriage as a newlywed and my run-in with a spirit in a stranger’s home (listen to find out how I handled that and get some tips on managing your own experiences as well).
On our return to Arizona from Montana you will hear how strange activity escalates for me, be introduced to a new dog who becomes my protector and listen to an unsettling vision I experienced that included foreshadowing of my career and something that may be a part of my future I would hope to avoid. Next week we will enter into the world of healthcare (with HIPAA in mind of course) when I become a nurse and experiences run parallel to my own death.

Next week I will take you south to a city in Arizona where things begin to “heat up” spiritually! Spirit Chats with Kat - Podcast EP #5: ”The Soldier and the Shadow”

In the last episode, I talked about experiences I had in a southern rental home we were living in including a skinless premonition appearing in my parents' bedroom, hearing adult voices on the intercom system than ran through the house but nobody was there, a stereo randomly playing music without anyone turning it on, sounds of someone pacing up and down the stairs, and coming up to me in the living room and abruptly stopping in the home, opening and closing the baby gates at the top and bottom of the stairs, as well as seeing darting shadows and hearing children's laughter in a cemetery close to a different home I had moved into. In this episode, I talk with you guys about being at a civil war park and seeing a revolutionary war soldier walk passed and acknowledge me. At first, I thought there was just some re-enactment going on, but I quickly realized it was a spirit after it had walked into the bathroom my brother went to use, but it never came out. When I asked my brother if he had seen that soldier walk into the restroom, he stated no one had been in there with him. Fast forward some time, I found myself moving yet again to a small little house in Indiana. This particular night, I had fallen asleep in the bed down in the basement. At some point I had woken up in the middle of the night, and there was the figure of a man standing at the end of the bed just staring at me. We had just moved into this house, so the experience made me pretty alarmed. I had closed my eyes tightly and told him that I didn't want him there and he needed to go away. When I opened my eyes, he was gone, but I still felt the presence. Finally, I fell back asleep, but that was the last time I was ever going to sleep in the basement again. A little offput by the encounter, I decided to tell my mother about the experience, not realizing that what I saw was in fact another spirit. My mother (irate and probably fearful) brought the incident to the attention of the landlord via phone call, which didn't really go over very well. Obviously, the landlord hadn't given anyone else a key or anything and viewed the complaint as an insult to his integrity.
Jumping to a few years later, we had lived at that house for about 8 years, and it was time to move out. I had a cockateel (pet bird) that I wasn't going to be able to take care of at the place we were moving, and I had asked the landlord if he would be interested in having it, since he already had one of his own, and he gladly obliged. I took the cockateal over to his house and I apologized for the phone call from my mother all those years ago. As I was leaving, the landlord had told me that the previous tenants had said they kept seeing a man in the house. I was so relieved to know that I wasn't the only one who had experienced this in that home.
A few years after that encounter, I had another experience as I was driving back home to Indiana one summer. I had taken the New Jersey turnpike, it was the middle of the night, and I was exhausted. Long drive, but I was trying to do the whole trip in one shot. I knew I needed to get at least a little sleep if I was going to make it back safely, but that being said I didn't feel like utilizing a rest stop at that time of night at the point in time was the safest option. My best bet was to utilize a parking pull off on the side of the road to catch an hour or two so I could finish the drive. I felt very uneasy about it all but tried to equate those feelings of uneasiness to how extremely dark it was outside my car that night, trying to explain away the heavy feeling I had. So, I'm laying down in my car, and right as I'm about to fall asleep, a voice says my name right next to my ear. Immediately I was wide awake, jumped in my front seat, and high tailed it out of there. Still needing to get a couple hours of sleep so I could make it back, I didn't pull over again until I reached a farmhouse that had a very bright light in their yard that I figured would allow me to rest for an hour or so. I realized that the voice was my guide, my ancestor, my guardian that I've talked about in prior podcast episodes. There were reports of hitchhikers disappearing on that exact road that I had originally pulled off onto to rest that night, so I really believe my female ancestor, my guide, saved me that night by warning me to get out of there.

As I was sitting on the front porch, I had a real feeling of anxiety, struggling a bit with the situation I was experiencing at the time. As I was sitting on the porch, I could see a bunch of bright differently colored lights approaching me in a cluster and could hear voices emitting from them, some voices I recognized from my past experience after I had died.
